UPDATE 9/21/23: It’s been nearly a dozen years since Joe Biden’s unalloyed ugliness in the 2012 Vice Presidential debate inspired commentary on this site about how the breakdown of common, everyday civility leads inevitably to the deepest sorts of social subversion. The post from 2012 is entitled Understanding Biden’s Debate Rudeness: Marxist Rebels Undermine Manners, Too. Watching Joe’s clear pleasure in splashing his vomitous poison all about the stage that night, one did not need a crystal ball foretelling the sort of lawless, amoral climate a then-hypothetical Biden administration might provide.
So it is with the bizarre case of John Fettermam being allowed, even encouraged to dress like a slob in violation of the Senate’s longtime rules of self-deportment and dress. The good-humored, right-minded editors of the NY Post decided to see how well that flouting of the most basic rules worked out in some of the Big Apple’s toniest restaurants. The restaurants, unlike the Democrats running the Senate, didn’t cotton to the new fashion statement and advised that a visit to a local haberdashery would be an acceptable alternative to Fetterman Chic.

Manners and etiquette, personal appearance and deportment are directly related to a society’s survival…or total breakdown.
That this relaxation of dress standards for the U.S. was pushed by no less than Party leader Schumer is a good sign of nervous desperation now that NJ Senator Menendez may very well be on the way out. Getting caught literally with bribery cash on his person is a bit embarrassing even for today’s Dem Party. Take away the neurologically-challenged Fetterman, and the Dems edge perilously close to losing their majority.

Although she may be congratulating herself for being an heroic muckraker exposing some vital, concealed truth, it really amounts to one silly twit swatting another silly twit with a feathery plume pen. As for the transgressor, it’s like trying to describe “Victor Victoria,” a woman pretending to be a man pretending to be a woman. In the case of NY Times faux “conservative” David Brooks, it’s a liberal pretending to be a conservative pretending to be a liberal exposing greedy capitalist profit. With no thanks to these dopes, we all know airport food is a bit more expensive than packing your own sandwiches and snacks.

This one is that he never intended to be POTUS or hold any office again until Donald Trump celebrated the White Supremacists of Charlottesville VA in 2017. Problem is, Trump never did any such thing, and Lyin’ Joe is now too demented even to present the lie convincingly. Rather, he’s daily becoming more and more that tiresome old uncle who keeps repeating a fake, flattering anecdote about himself three times in the course of one meal. Besides, it was on Stephen Colbert’s show that he said the voice of his dead son Beau called him to duty. Which lie are we supposed to believe?
