One could simple write a column listing “Lies of the Week” and thereby accurately lay bare the essence of virtually all the most pressing political dangers we face. “Democracy dies in Darkness” is better expressed as “Freedom dies in lies.” Herewith the latest:

UPDATE 3/27/24: When the truth is inconvenient, make things up.

UPDATE 3/21/24: The lie has become the norm devoid of truth in MSM reporting on anything having to do with Trump and MAGA. Recall the outraged handwringing over Trump’s so-called mocking (that wasn’t) of a disabled journalist. So-called Eminences at the highest levels of the MSM have no hesitation to take one word and craft an entire new meme-of-the-week to discredit any enemy of WokeWorld. Trump’s use of the word “bloodbath” describing China’s economic advances here in his absence has now been distorted into a warning of all-out violent insurrection to the country by Orange Man Bad if they don’t elect him. 

UPDATE 3/19/24: “What’s that smell in this room? Didn’t you notice it, Brick? Didn’t you notice a powerful and obnoxious odor of mendacity in this room? That nauseating stench of mendacity only grows in intensity as it rises daily like a poison cloud above our corrupted legal system, now in fulltime use as a weapon of the Democrat Party fashioned to destroy all political opposition, Donald Trump first and foremost.

UPDATE 3/13/24: Lies, lies, damned lies. We are in danger of letting the toxic monotony of it bore us into silence, specifically the silence of the tomb.

UPDATE 3/8/24: Perhaps the Republicans might have chosen plain talk from a sober adult as a rebuttal to Biden’s mean, mendacious SOTU rant rather than the wholly phony, embarrassing dramatics of a 10th grade high school thespian served up by Alabama Senator Katie Britt.  This rings as disturbingly false in its way as anything Joe was vomiting up and does the cause of America’s MAGA recovery no good.

UPDATE 2/19/24: The slow assassination-by-lawfare of the Deep State’s most fearsome foe is One Huge Lie for the history books, unprecedented in its outrageous abuse of the legal system. Should there be no comeuppance for those intent on destroying Trump and MAGA, magnificent America will be no more, just a lawless banana republic indistinguishable from those hapless shitholes on every continent, hanging on by a thread.

UPDATE 11/30/23: The Big Lies are the ones spread so frequently that they have become commonly accepted as truth. Among the biggest falsehoods and currently most relevant is the fable of “Palestinian Liberation” fighting for “national identity” from Israeli “occupation.” What better way to attract sympathy and countless billions in aid from the terminally gullible? Like all similar political scams, the money benefits no one but the appointed reps of such movements with their overflowing personal bank accounts and their determined efforts to keep the people they supposedly represent poor, oppressed and angry. It works wonders for the Inner Cities of America; it works equal miracles for the Middle East and keeps anti-Semitism at the forefront of Leftist global revolution.

Restating the obvious for those still insisting the whole “Palestinian” bit about “occupation” is remotely legit.

UPDATE 11/23/23: The J6 film footage is now fully out, a vital step toward dispelling the Big Lie of J6 “insurrection.” Another particularly ugly bit of ice-berg sized debris floating about the sea of lies drowning us is the George Floyd/I Can’t Breathe fable. UPDATE 9/21/23: A Lib celebrity in the literary world has taken a fellow Lib scribbler to task for misrepresenting the price of airport food. Although she may be congratulating herself for being an heroic muckraker exposing some vital, concealed truth, it really amounts to one silly twit swatting another silly twit with a feathery plume pen. As for the transgressor, it’s like trying to describe “Victor Victoria,” a woman pretending to be a man pretending to be a woman. In the case of NY Times faux “conservative” David Brooks, it’s a liberal pretending to be a conservative pretending to be a liberal exposing greedy capitalist profit. With no thanks to these dopes, we all know airport food is a bit more expensive than packing your own sandwiches and snacks.

UPDATE 8/5/24: A Seattle Pop Culture museum containing a Harry Potter exhibit has  decreed J.K. Rowling a “cold, heartless, joy-sucking entity” and erased all mention of her name from the display. This Stalinist edict emanates from the museum’s curator, a disgruntled woman claiming to be a man while projecting her own miserable inner life onto someone exponentially more intelligent, imaginative and successful than herself. If a world-renowned billionaire author of best-selling children’s fantasies can be demonized/canceled/erased for telling obvious truths about the immutability of biological sex, imagine what’s in store for the rest of us calling out the Big Lies.

UPDATE 6/11/23: Trump is under indictment while Biden bumbles freely over sandbags, collects millions in pay-for-play bribes as the world burns. Call it gaslighting. The jaded realist once again calls it the Big Lie. 

UPDATE 6/2/23: As destructive as outright lying is, refusal to see justice done, denial of the truth is more insidious and more damaging. Where are the consequences for those studiously ignoring the damning revelations of the Durham Report?

Framed as savagery against innocent Vietnamese civilians, this Pulitzer Prize-winning photo helped undermine the American incursion in Vietnam, leading to one of the most humiliating moments in American history.  In reality, it was the execution of a terrorist monster. We had to wait a half century for Brandon’s brilliant flight from Afghanistan to suffer an equally embarrassing outrage against our military.

Se PWADEMOS  (sic) thanks to the curative powers of her own miraculous doctoral talents and those of the Alzheimer patient she sleeps with and covers for. The Alzheimer patient referenced above has his own whoppers too! The Biden economic plan is working! Prices are down…except for food, construction materials, cars, gas…This confused teller of tall tales also has a press secretary who has informed us that those Republicans in favor of defunding the police have been outed and held to account! Except there aren’t any that she can name.

Unnamed sources have also verified with absolute certainty that the illegal immigration at the border is under total control and working beautifully. The Republic has been preserved! Additional good news is that the damage done by lockdowns (and the proposed crippling by upcoming “emergencies”) has all been totally undone and was the fault of Republicans too and will be in the future if and when those new emergencies arise.

UPDATE 6/22/21: The lies are so constant and a matter of policy that they have become the norm. Naturally, the uninformed and brain-dead take this as the accepted reality. Lie enough and consistently,  and people assume it’s all true. This is no news to the minimally informed. However, as the assault on what is good and true is entirely based on lies, the antidote always an equally fierce stockpiling of the truth. Guns are handy in instances of physical assault, but what weapon works as well as facts and reason in this all-out barrage of false words and evil ideas we are currently suffering?

UPDATE 4/11/21: As lies infuse everything emanating from the Left, our forgiving natures have to ask: “Are they stupid or liars?  Then again, maybe both. That question applies equally to both the liars and the average Joes & Janes buying into the absurdity of what they’re being told. 

The term “gaslighting” is the perfect metaphor for what is taking place by carefully crafted design. And it’s not that we haven’t been adequately warned by courageous whistleblowers, Cassandras and firsthand experience. Yuri Bezmenov, former KGB operative, has described the diabolical mass psychology at work on us, decades ago. Those most in need of paying attention will hear none of it.  

Hunter Biden’s fairy tale/fable/fantasy of redemption: One…Big…Fat…LIE. His inspiring tome “Beautiful Things” is plug UGLY, just like the author and his whole, grifting clan, from the Big Guy on down to this dreg of dregs. Sadly for all of us, this shameless gaslighting and obfuscation has major consequences for America. We live in dangerously amoral times, and our chosen leadership reflects that. 

More hilarious gaslighting theatre from our Beloved Leaders: Transportation Secretary and Serious Greenie Petey Buttigieg bikes to work (meaning he gets dropped off a few blocks from the office by a pack of burly dudes who have driven him to within several blocks of the office, take the bike out of a gas-guzzling SUV for Sir Nibs and get him all properly decked out in a cute little helmet for the big, low carbon half-mile ride to work.  It’s all theatre, folks. Enjoy the popcorn and show, but don’t forget it’s just make-believe.  

As the saying goes and reality invariably proves, you can tell if those in power are lying by watching their lips move. What bigger lie and stupider response from the envious exist than the promise that taxing the rich will somehow make YOU richer. Guess what? Surprise!  YOU PAY, NOT THEM!

Immigration: no law, no reform

Regarding the humanitarian crisis now exploding and getting worse by the minute at the border: this is solely, complete, willfully the monstrous creation of the operatives managing the Hologram Presidency, not as claimed, the preceding administration. Remember “Build The Wall!” leading up to the 2016 Election? Remember your outrage and resistance to the very sections of  The Wall itself that have gone up in the four years since then?

UPDATE 3/28/21: As of November 4, 2020 after four years of “Build The Wall,” illegal border traffic was just a trickle. In a matter of weeks at the prodding of the Hologram’s handlers, we have a raging flood of of thousands overrunning the border with thousands, eventually millions more to follow.  Where are those plaintive, outraged cries of “Children In Cages!” as humans literally stack up at Joe & Kamala’s warm invitation? Naturally, it’s all Trump’s fault. 

Next step: Cloward-Piven strategy on steroids-destroy social order, explode the welfare system, bankrupt the federal treasury, and voila! The mission to install a Soviet-style U.S.S.A soon to be accomplished. 

Gun Control is about control, not guns. 

UPDATE 3/28/21; Since the country was founded, gun ownership was not just a privilege but the duty of responsible adults obliged to protect themselves, their families and their property. Perspective on firearms and self-defense seems to have changed a bit through the years. Now, we’re informed by our betters that they need to take away our guns for our “safety.” If a bald lie like that works on a stupid American citizenry, maybe it might work to shut down all businesses, ruin the economy, open the door to election fraud and total transformation of the country as we’ve known it for 250 years. Certainly worth a try!

UPDATE 3/28/21: Using plain English and simple math, one should have no problem explaining why raising taxes and the minimum wage hurts the Little Guy, supposedly the beneficiary of such economically. But, instead of recognizing the lie implicit in such vaunted altruism, the response remains, “OK!  Make lower wages and higher prices illegal!” And never mind that the employer or corporation goes broke or moves to China. What a great strategy for helping the Little Guy employed and in clover! When will it dawn that someone’s going to have to make the loss that the employer with higher taxes and minimum wages, and it’s going to be the worker and the public.

It is not from a laboratory but from the minds of power-mad political operatives operating on the flaws of human mass psychology: ” Legends become fact, and lies become truth on the basis of their service to a cause.

Bernie Sanders on the wonderful new “Covid-19 Relief” boondoggle (a fraction of which goes to anything related to Covid-19):  “In my view, this is the most significant legislation for working people that has been passed in decades.”  Strange word choice “working people” when most of the bill is specifically for people who don’t work but live on government, taxpayer-subsidized (people who work) welfare. About that “tax hike on the rich” that’s going to penalize them for being so fat and greedy? You’ll be footing the bill, not them.

And that new bill that purportedly “for the people.” Anything but. A simple accounting reveals social engineering on steroids For The State and the insignificant Little People in the way be damned.

In his own depressing version of Jimmy Carter’s memorably miserable malaise speech, Biden takes credit for the vaccines that didn’t exist or get into one arm before he came riding in on his rocking horse. Like Dick Morris said, “The crowing rooster taking credit for the dawn.” And while Joe takes credit from Trump for the vaccine, Nancy is there to place the blame on Trump for chaos at the border, described as a trickle up to January 20 and mysteriously exploding in the weeks since. Who else could have created such a mess? Certainly not Nancy’s Democrats!

Just in case you still believe everything you read in the paper: the Washington Post quietly, very quietly retracts its claim that Trump pressured Georgia’s officials to bend things his way when he simply alerted them of illegal hanky-panky in their midst, very much like his supposedly impeachable offense of alerting the Ukrainians of the same.

UPDATE 3/7/21: A Litany of Lies; A Culture of Lies;  what isn’t a lie these days? We are experiencing the real perils of mainstreaming the Oprah-esque notion of “your own truth” and not sticking to FACTS, those ideas, words, meanings provable, objectively verifiable, commonly agreed upon by the rational and sentient. Without FACTS aka The Truth, there is no God. In such a God-less vacuum rush those self-anointed deities lusting to fill the massive void of lies underpinning every brutal dictatorship in history. America has been the notable exception thanks to a few powerful words written on parchment at the country’s birth. “We hold these TRUTHS to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness…”

After 250 years of preserving a pretty good semblance of liberty and justice for all Americans, we are faced with some formidable Big Lies, threatening a massive slide into dictatorship. Among them:

a)The great “benefits” of giving up fossil fuels for “pure,” “clean” renewable energy sources like ugly, bird-gobbling windmills. Anyone been down to Texas lately? How’s that workin’ out for ya’ll?

b)The  “mortal peril” of “rightwing insurrection” to the country’s most “sacred institutions and monuments” as dramatically demonstrated by the boundless bloodshed, billions of dollars in property damage and gruesome piles of murdered politicians’ bodies NOT left behind by….DOZENS of unarmed, noisy people of various political factions, deliberately waved into the Capitol on January 6. Considering the 9/11-level mayhem claimed, how did the real mischief of a Congress legitimizing a corrupt election resume in orderly fashion only a few hours later without a hitch? Meanwhile, the U.S. Capitol sits encased in barbed wire with thousands of armed militia standing by like some Third World Tinpot Banana Republic. Who’s really the threat and who’s the threatened here?

c)Shutting down the entire US economy and most of the world for a year (and counting) in the name of “public health!!” The bellowing condemnation of those sensible, honest, freedom-loving American governors defying the Big Lockdown Lie and letting their constituents resume their normal lives. Mass vaccination trumpeted as salvation…while insisting all the measures of masking, social distancing, lockdowns must continue indefinitely! Has there ever been a bigger lie and a more devastating crime against humanity?

Each demands full investigation, exposure and eradication. The alternative is permanently centralized, totalitarian control, the true motive behind each Big Lie.

UPDATE 11/21/20: Hard to beat this headline from the NY Times shortly after Election, 2020 as Exhibit A of how the MSM is in the tank over its head and all the way down beyond its toes for the hard Left. No fraud. Not a whiff of such. Just as plausible as precincts comically voting 110% for Dem candidates or tens of thousands of votes suddenly surfacing in the wee hours…exclusively for Sleepy Joe. There is apparently no lie that is too big and too brazen for the Woke intelligentsia’s Pravda.

UPDATE 10/31/20: NY Governor Cuovid Cuomo rewrites history, downplays his very own (real, not “alleged”) mandate condemning record thousands of seniors to death in nursing homes and projects blame onto…who else?…Trump. Reality says otherwise, but nice try. Perhaps those coming lawsuits from aggrieved relatives will change his mind…or, better, put to flight the false public perception of his self-described, fantasized heroic handling of the crisis.

ORIGINAL POST 10/20/20: Talk about  mass gaslighting! The predominance of lies coming from the Left is so constant & overwhelming that one often feels like a helpless rag doll tossed about in a tidal wave. One can’t possibly respond to every single one, and telling the truth in response is of absolutely no interest to the serial liars.

But what else can one do? And routinely responding to a single lie can help chop through the psychological Gordian Knot this paralyzing poison creates in the brains and souls of honest people. Exposing the lie and telling the truth, one at a time, is THE antidote to this plague….and ultimately, the salvation of a free America.

There is the Big Lie advanced by the outrageous 1619 Project nonsense  that insists America is fundamentally a horrible, corrupt, racist country and always has been. Response: that’s a lie.  On the contrary, we have liberated millions in our history, here and abroad. First and foremost, ask hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of millions of  Americans of all colors and backgrounds and economic levels who wouldn’t have dreamed of living FREELY anywhere else…and try calling them all liars.

There is the Big Lie Alinskyesque tactic of projecting one’s obvious guilt upon the honest accuser; similarly there’s the crafty reversal of the guilty party laying claim to the authentic virtue and honesty of the accuser. Take Ilhan Omar’s recently professed “[loving] this country way more than the President” that laughably illuminates what is probably Rule #1 in the Leftist playbook of advancing their agenda. YOU’RE the bad one, not me. WE’RE here to totally control you save Grandma from Covid, not you. Big Lies told enough become truth.

To be really current and focused on the crucial choice the upcoming election poses, check out the barbed-wire charm bracelet of all-out lies (provided by Breitbart) uttered by Sleepy Joe during the final debate. In looking into each little, individual lie, the whole suffocating morass of Leftist Lies lights up like billions of scurrying bugs fleeing from under an upturned rock. Each, expanded upon one at a time can prove to be a whole education on what we’re up against.

1. No One Lost Their Insurance Under ObamaCare

BIDEN:  “That’s why I did not — not one single person, private insurance, would lose their insurance under my plan, nor did they under Obamacare. They did not lose their insurance, unless they chose they wanted to go to something else.”

FACT: Up to six million people lost their private health insurance plan after Obamacare became the law of the land, and the reason people lost their private health insurance is the most immoral things about Obamacare… Obamacare outlawed — actually made it illegal, for private insurance to offer private plans that did not live up to Obamacare’s lofty and ridiculous standards. Essentially, Obamacare demands we all, each and every one of us, pay for Cadillac plans that include all kinds of things we don’t need. So if, for instance, you had a reasonably priced catastrophic  plan with a high deductible — and these are perfect plans for the healthy — Obamacare outlawed them.

So many people lost their private plans that even the Obama-loving media were forced to declare Obama’s promise that “no one would lose their insurance or doctor” the Lie of the Year.

2. America was Cozy with Hitler

BIDEN: “We had a good relationship with Hitler before he in fact invaded Europe, the rest of Europe.”

FACT: This is such a ludicrous lie it’s hardly worth debunking. Franklin Roosevelt was president during Hitler’s rise. Roosevelt and Hitler both came to power in 1933. The president has sole authority over foreign policy, and at no time was Roosevelt fooled by Hitler. He certainly tried to stop and stay out of the European war, but Hitler’s aggression towards our allies and Hitler’s own hatred of America… This is such a stupid lie.

The reason Biden told this lie is what’s most illuminating. Biden is embarrassed that Trump has been able to do something Obama and Biden could not… Get North Korea to stop rattling its war sabers and firing off missiles.

Before Trump took office, North Korea (like ISIS) was on everyone’s mind. Thanks to Trump’s handling of North Korea (and ISIS), we hardly think about it anymore.

3. I Never Opposed Fracking

BIDEN:  “I have never said I oppose fracking.”

FACT: Biden spent the entire primary opposing fracking. There’s a ton of video of it.

4. I Didn’t Oppose Trump’s China Travel Ban

BIDEN: “I talked about his xenophobia in a different context. It wasn’t about closing the border to Chinese coming to the United States.”

FACT: Here are Biden’s own tweets attacking the China travel ban as xenophobic:

5. Illegal Aliens Show Up For Asylum Hearings After Being Caught and Released

BIDEN: “The catch and release, you know what he’s talking about there? If in fact, you had family, came across, they’re arrested. They, in fact, were given a date to show up for their hearing. They were released. And guess what, they showed up for the hearing. ”

FACT: Catch and release is America’s gobsmackingly stupid policy of catching illegal aliens in our country and then releasing them back into our country with a notice to show up for an asylum hearing. Yes, we release illegals into our own country after we have caught them. These illegals have already broken the law, but we still release them and tell them to come to a court proceeding, which they will almost certainly lose, which means they will be deported. In other words, they have no incentive to show up.

Through a number of maneuvers I don’t want to get bogged down in here, Trump has made amazing strides in putting an end to catch and release. Biden would reinstate it, and in order to justify it, he’s falsely claiming illegals dutifully show up for their asylum hearings. Well, they don’t. Close to 90 percent do not.

What’s more, it only makes sense that they don’t. Why would they? If they were legitimate asylum seekers, they would have asked for asylum in a legal fashion. These are illegals who snuck in and only ask for asylum after they’re caught.

6. Raising the Minimum Wage Does Not Hurt Anyone

BIDEN: “There is no evidence that when you raise the minimum wage, business has gone out of business. That is simply not true.”

FACT: Biden wants to more than double the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour, another disastrous one-size-fits-all idea. And now he’s claiming that forcing companies to double payroll expenses (this also increases taxes paid by employers) won’t hurt businesses. He further claims it never has.

The idea that mandating a raise in the minimum wage hurts businesses and workers is not even controversial. Everyone knows it does.

What Trump said is exactly right. This should be left to the states. A $15  minimum wage might make sense in blue states with their unnecessarily high cost of living, but South Dakota and Alabama sure don’t need it.

7. No One Brought Up Biden’s Troubling Ukraine Conflicts of Interest During Impeachment

BIDEN: “Nothing was unethical. Here’s what the deal, with regard to Ukraine, we had this whole question about whether or not because he was on the board. I later learned of Burisma, a company that somehow, I had done something wrong. Yet, every single, solitary person when he was going through his impeachment testifying under oath who worked for him said I did my job impeccably. I carried out U.S. policy. Not one single solitary thing was out of line. Not a single thing. Number one.”

FACT: Again, we have the video tape proving this is a lie. A whole lot of people involved with impeachment were concerned with Hunter Biden looting Ukraine while his dad, the vice president, was the Obama administration’s point person there.

8. Trump Never Told Putin to Stop Meddling in American Elections

BIDEN: “And to the best of my knowledge, I don’t think the President said anything to Putin about [election meddling].”

FACT: Oh, isn’t China Joe, whose family received $3.5 million from the former mayor of Moscow, precious when he says to the “best of my knowledge.” He knows damn well Trump has told Putin to butt out — plenty of times.

9. Hunter’s Emails are Part of a “Russian Plan”

BIDEN: “Look, there are 50 former National Intelligence folks who said that what this, he’s accusing me of is a Russian plan. They have said that this has all the characteristics– four– five former heads of the CIA, both parties, say what he’s saying is a bunch of garbage.”

FACT: The evidence that the Hunter Biden  emails exposing Joe Biden as the head of a crime family trading off his role as vice president to get rich continue to be verified  — and done so on-the-record, including pollster Frank Luntz.

Most importantly, neither Joe Biden nor Hunter Biden nor the Biden campaign have said the emails are not real.

10. Trump Refused to Take ‘Responsibility’ for the Coronavirus

BIDEN: “220,000 Americans dead. If you hear nothing else I say tonight, hear this. Anyone who’s responsible for not taking control — in fact, not saying, I take no responsibility, initially — anyone who is responsible for that many deaths should not remain as President of the United States of America.”

FACT: Because he’s old and growing senile, Biden garbled this with a double negative, but Biden is claiming Trump refused to take any responsibility for the coronavirus, when the only thing Trump claimed he was not responsible for was the early testing failures, and Trump was in no way responsible for the early testing failures. Trump was VERY specific on this point.

11. Trump Has Alienated ‘All’ Our Allies

BIDEN:  “[H]e pokes his finger in the eye of all our friends, all of our allies.”

FACT: What in the world is Biden even talking about here? Our relationship with Israel has never been better. He’s convinced Mexico and other countries to make great strides in slowing down illegal immigration. Peace is breaking out all over the Middle East. I could go on and on…”

And we will go on since there is no danger of running out of UPDATES here as the Left resorts endlessly to its next Orwellian gaslighting of the rational public. Hopefully, the vast majority of those within earshot are grounded in the bedrock objective reality of their American good fortune and hopeful opportunity. Despair, always the goal of the Left, is the dark, dank dirt where their lies can take root and desperate confusion ensues. So, rational voting people everywhere, take heed. Rub the fog out and LOOK.
