UPDATE 5/3/24: Small, simple gestures can have profound symbolic significance. Such a gesture is the raising of an American flag in defiance of those who hate America and all the incalculable good she has represented for 250 years. There will always be the unforgettable image of Iwo Jima from those grim but better days when the worst of the bad guys were Over There to be fought, not in our own midst actively allied with the enemies of good, healthy life everywhere.
Equally deserving of our gratitude and respect are those this week who, in the same spirit, have been moved to replant the American flag where it has been forcibly removed and desecrated on college campuses. Special HATS OFF! this week to the fraternity boys (make that MEN) at UNC (University of North Carolina)….
…and to members of the NYC police department at both Columbia and CCNY. This gives us reason to believe that essential America still lives and prevails wherever that Star Spangled Banner yet waves.

This year’s Presidential choices, representing diametrically opposed ways of life, will be a turning point in our lives. Sadly, there are those who believe four years of BrandonWorld haven’t proven the speaker correct, that this regime is one huge lie and an unquestioned assault on life & liberty worldwide.
UPDATE 5/4/24: Trump has released a campaign ad in support of those students at UNC who raised the American flag in defiance of the pro-Hamas/Palestine cabal overrunning the campus. Likewise, those students wisely know who is genuinely in their (and America’s) corner.

To be more specific, if one wants to commit political suicide, tell the voting public in your official campaign biography that shooting a frisky, obviously untrained 14 month old puppy named Cricket in the face is somehow admirable, the sign of the “right stuff” qualifying you to be POTUS. Really? To a nation of pet lovers, millions of whom are also largely ignorant and fearful about firearms (and, for that matter, about life on the farm)? Remember the serious mud that stuck to Mitt Romney just for the negative perception of having transported his dog on the excessively airy roof of the family car during a vacation?
Life and nature are tough and cruel, and behind the amenities of modern civilization lie some brutal realities. Almost everyone eats meat (that requires the existence of slaughterhouse mass production). Everyone uses clean, convenient indoor plumbing (that requires septic tanks and a whole industry of people hands-on disposing of raw sewage). These are facts that should be fully understood and appreciated. However, someone might inform Noem that detailing such personal unpleasantries in graphic fashion does not win hearts and minds (and votes). Nor is this the 19th century when the lives of most families depended upon the survival of one’s own little plot of crops and livestock. In the case of Cricket, she was doing naughty dog stuff chasing some chickens, and instead of giving her away or doing some serious training, Noem decided the dog must die on the spot. Wow! This is a woman who can make hard decisions! As appealing as the Guardian Angel of Benghazi who fearlessly dodged bullets in Kosovo and likewise tried selling herself as a potential female POTUS who could make “Hard Choices.”
Proof of real leadership, making public one’s best selling points, is good politics, not a double feature starring yourself in updates of “Old Yeller” and “The Yearling.” God forbid Trump still considers the clueless Noem a good, saleable (and commonsensical) running mate.

You’re next, dummies, so enjoy your painful fates at the hands of those you stupidly think are your friends. There it is, that old story: the inability to figure out who are friends and who are enemies.
UPDATE 4/28/24: Turns out Columbia U (and probably the rest of the Ivy League and the most prestigious U.S. college campuses) have NOT been bastions of free speech or basic human rights (including Jews) for quite a while. The video below goes back 20 years when even then people on campus were afraid to show their faces on camera when pointing out blatant antisemitism and suppression of anything but pro-Palestinian propaganda. What we are seeing now and the problem underlying all of this unthinkable sickness in the young and impressionable is the emptiness of indoctrinated, hopeless souls waiting to be filled up and animated by anyone/anything, however evil.
If this is to be stopped before we start seeing the bodies piling up by the millions as they did in the throes of China’s Cultural Revolution (also waged on university campuses), we might start by cutting off the money supply funding this insanity like gas on a fire.
