Every planned Utopia has rigidified, annihilating freedom in the bargain. Never mind that individual liberty and a competitive free market protected by the American Constitution has provided more goods & services for more people than any social model ever devised. No matter. God-given Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness[and private property] aren’t good enough for millions oblivious to the source of their good fortune. Socialism, a planned society, cradle-to-grave guarantees of all the “basics” remain the old tried-and-true bait by which the latest demagogues lure the sheep down the chute to slaughter.
