Andrew Breitbart

“Righteous Indignation: Excuse Me While I Save the World!” (out today) is not the book I thought it would be. I was expecting a storied narrative simply about a man who stumbles into a career as a political muckraker. What I got was a lesson on the historical framework of how the evils of communism came to the shores of Southern California and now disguises itself as democracy, entertainment, network news and community organizing.

Obama: Natural born American citizen or not?

To those who are now speaking out about the Obama eligibility matter, I can think of no better statement than the one uttered by a very frustrated Officer John McClane, played by Bruce Willis in the movie“Die Hard.” In order to get the attention of a police officer oblivious to the carnage taking place inside of the Nakatomi Plaza building after making a very cursory inspection and finding nothing amiss,McClane tosses the body of a terrorist from an office window window onto the windshield of the police cruiser and fires at the police car, yelling “welcome to the party, pal.”

The Mask Slips, Falls to Ground, Explodes

I know, I know, applying the “mask slips” metaphor to Nancy Pelosi, who appears to have spring full blown from some twisted lefty-nightmare remake of The Stepford Wives, may seem a cliché, but this extraordinary video, posted by RealClearPolitics and flagged by Brian Bolduc over on The Corner, reveals the innermost character of modern liberalism in just a little over one minute.

Obama to America: Sell Your SUVs, You Fat Refrigerated Slobs

President Obama is brimming with useful advice for those who can’t figure out how to survive in the marvelous new America he has created. This goes all the way back to the 2008 campaign, when his advice for dealing with the fuel shortage his critics accurately predicted he would cause was as follows:

“Making sure your tires are properly inflated is a simple thing. But could we save all the oil that they’re talking about getting off drilling, if everybody was just inflating their tires? And getting regular tune-ups? You’d actually save just as much!”

Now That We’ve Reached This Point – What’s The REAL Fear If The Government Shuts Down

The political as well as economic environment today is far removed from the days of previous shut-downs. In the mid-90s, the rare similarities to today were a Democrat in office dueling with Conservatives in Congress on the heels of liberal spending and failure to produce government budgets. What has changed is the birth of the Tea Party, a citizenry highly disgruntled with the man in the Oval Office (to include his own constituency), and a deficit as well as national debt unmatched in the history of the country.

Katharine Weymouth Stands Up to Unions, Rescues the Washington Post

The Washington Post exists today because of cost-cutting and quality improvements instituted by publisher Katharine Weymouth. But that hasn’t stopped some Post reporters and the Newspaper Guild from complaining about her compensation.

For her efforts, Weymouth received more than $2 million last year, mostly in bonuses tied to profitability. The New York Post reported that reporters are “fuming” over her pay, given that the paper has been cutting costs, in part by offering reporters buyouts to leave.

Yes, Violence Can be the Answer

It was the body slam heard around the world. When some Australian schoolboys decided to videotape themselves bullying 15-year old Casey Heynes, one of them got more than he bargained for. Casey, who had been pushed around and humiliated for years, responded to a punch in his face and other attempted blows by hoisting his tormentor WWE style and introducing him to the pavement. The result was a video that went viral in a way the bullies had never imagined and for a reason they certainly had never hoped: Casey has become a hero worldwide.

Obama Adminstration Is Following the ‘Detroit Pattern’

Random thoughts on the passing scene:

They say that records are made to be broken. President George W. Bush set a record by adding $3.2 trillion to the national debt over the course of his eight years in office. But Barack Obama has already beaten that record with $4.4 trillion in just his first three years in office.

People who thoughtlessly give money to panhandlers on the street seem not to realize that this is making installment payments on the degeneration of America.
