After this annus horribilis of Orwellian lockdowns, stolen elections and overnight “transformation” of our American life, sanity and optimism are only possible when focusing on home, family, work. Fully protected, guaranteed ownership of that private, individual world carved out IS the uniquely American experience. Meanwhile, we look outwardly with dread at the torn & tattered American Republic that has made this good life possible and ask “O say, does that star spangled banner yet wave o’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?” Is our flag still there?
What IS still there, albeit under unprecedented threat and duress, is communication, ideas, history, an inner spirit and spark that lives in all Americans who cherish and fiercely protect their gift of liberty. Most enemies in our own personal orbits and in the wider world have clearly identified themselves as foes of that liberty which is a blessing. Not so transparent have been the turncoats and timid naysayers nominally on our side, fearfully capitulating to the forces that will destroy us all.
Restating the obvious: survival in this life boils down to distinguishing between friends and enemies. In our representative politics, it’s necessary to find those scarce few who genuinely share our concerns and aims and are willing to fight the whole fight for us. Such a wildly surprising example of that rare breed has been Donald Trump. His fiery presence persists in this latest election debacle.
Other younger personalities, all consistently patriotic and yielding little or nothing at the barricades, bode well for the future.

We know our enemies; they are legion. Best we focus on our proven friends however few they are (and until they prove to be enemies which is not unheard of). These battles are won or lost in the depths of the soul. Choosing decisiveness over despair beats all. The strong get more while the weak ones fade. God bless the child that’s got his own.
What continues to baffle me and so many others is how half the nation can buy into this crap! Even despite the MSM, Hollywood, corporate America, and the other institutions, it just does not make any sense! I guess that’s how Hitler and all the others managed.
