DO WE HAVE THE WILL TO FOLLOW IN GREAT FOOTSTEPS?

While Leftists of all stripes continue to spit out their rage at their shocking setback last Election Day, serious Conservatives are watching, with cautious but growing optimism,  Donald Trump’s mission slowly taking concrete shape. Remember this man is a builder of buildings and businesses by trade who deals in results, not mere abstractions.

“There is nothing like our community of nations. The world has never known anything like our community of nations…. above all, we value the dignity of every human life, protect the rights of every person, and share the hope of every soul to live in freedom. That is who we are. Those are the priceless ties that bind us together as nations, as allies, and as a civilization.”

With his stirring Warsaw speech, this much maligned “clown” and “buffoon” has established himself unmistakeably as a stalwart champion of the West and its tradition of individual human rights and responsibilities, an impassioned fighter for human freedom. From where else have come the God-given concepts of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness and Property for the individual? And where else have these concepts eventually been granted legally  to all its citizens? It is precisely because of human imperfection that Western documents like our Declaration of Independence, our Constitution, the Magna Carta and others before them have been so essential in codifying and guaranteeing our exceptional way of life. Trump leaves us with the question, do we have the will to defend it? Do we have the sheer numbers in dwindling population to withstand a hostile, non-assimilating migrant tidal wave?

“…what we’ve inherited from our ancestors has never existed to this extent before. And if we fail to preserve it, it will never, ever exist again. So we cannot fail.”

Naturally, if one considers the West’s overall modern life quality inferior to that of Middle Easterners, Asians and Africans, one would be prone to loathe and dismiss Western values. It is the whine of dependent grown-up children living idle and free in their parents’ basements while complaining about the accommodations. Small wonder the basic goals of the Left has been to create a permanently dependent majority of lifelong infants. Such core weakness is the source of mass political power, the recipe for dictatorship and totalitarian tyranny.

Trump has lived the American and Western Dream large and, unlike many in his enviable position, he genuinely wants to spread the riches: not other people’s money and property but the God-given opportunity for millions of individuals to gain it for themselves. There is no more fundamental Natural Right than Private Property, that which differentiates the individual from the herd, a human being’s only hedge against mass serfdom and enslavement. Naturally, our self-appointed Superiors longing to enslave and be enslaved can howl with shameless dishonesty that these fundamental Western values are “xenophobic,” “racist,” “dog whistles” for “White Supremacy.”  Individual Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Life & Property  is an  affront, the main obstacle to their collectivist aims. Conservatives caught breathing are criminals in their warped minds. Foiled again!

May we remind these collectivists that the West (that’s Europe and America and a scattered few others) over all other cultures have historically led the way in abolishing slavery, one of many inconvenient truths tripping up the lies of the Progressive Intelligentsia. Perhaps they might also ask themselves why the mass immigration they claim to celebrate is overwhelmingly East to West, not the reverse. Why do these privileged Westerners who downplay their privilege not migrate East where life is supposedly so vastly superior? Naturally, they have no intention of doing any such thing. They are apparently incapable of recognizing and enjoying their great good luck but instead can only curse it.

Such is another aspect of human imperfection, another expression of our Fall from Divine Grace. Continually granted the opportunity for the nearest thing to Eden in this life, many of us continue to waste the opportunity and in jealous bitterness would deny that opportunity to others. These are the petty flaws and ceaseless struggles within all of us. Lucky are we to have the continuous chance to pursue the good life, as difficult as that pursuit may be. Now is the time.

“… if we fail to preserve it, it will never, ever exist again. So we cannot fail.”
